So I know I’ve been AWOL this week, so here’s a quick post until I get to a longer one.
Basically, just a great editorial by Tom Friedman about the messy situation right now in Israel. In short: With Fayyad, a progressive, as a Palestinian leader and Netanyahu, a right to moderate, as the leader of Israel, we are currently at one of those times when peace could actually be possible. And the US’s response should serve as a wake-up call to Israel to prevent things like the 1600 new housing settlements in East Jerusalem from getting in the way of potential peace.
Obviously, its more nuanced than that summary.
